Amber Bridge Books began in Vancouver BC in 2008 with a single award-winning book, Breakthrough Power: How Quantum-leap New Energy Inventions Can Transform Our World, and builds on that success with further books.
Amber Bridge Books’ mission is to publish reader-friendly books for introducing game-changing clean energy systems, explaining them to the public and suggesting what we, the people, can do to help.
Why: Clean energy abundance is your birthright, according to scientists on the energy frontier who are interviewed by Amber Bridge Books authors. They point out the rich variety of clean energy inventions that the public usually doesn’t hear about, yet these topics directly relate to the economy and to resources for employing people in cleaning up the environment. Award: The first edition of Breakthrough Power was awarded a silver medal in the international Independent Publishers competition, the IPPY awards. Breakthrough Power’s second place award for ‘2009 Outstanding Book of the Year’ was in the category ‘Most Likely to Save the Planet’.
Co-authors: Jeane Manning was the author of the internationally recognized book The Coming Energy Revolution (1996); Joel Garbon, a science consultant to industry, was president of the New Energy Movement when Breakthrough Power was launched. Speakers at the launch included Nassim Haramein, William Baumgartner, Martin Burger, John Hutchison, John Wong, and the authors.
